Learn about meme coins
Simple explanations to help you understand listings and risks. This is general education, not financial or investment advice.
What Are Meme Coins?
Meme coins are crypto tokens associated with internet culture or communities. Popularity can change quickly, and attention alone does not establish lasting value.
What Is a Meme Coin Presale?
A presale offers tokens before regular trading begins. A project may fail to launch or deliver tokens. A presale listing does not mean trading data or liquidity exists.
Understanding Market Cap
Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply. Fully diluted valuation (FDV) uses a broader supply measure. Neither figure is the amount of money that can be withdrawn from a market. MemesDock labels FDV on cards when market cap is unavailable; the total-value stat may include FDV fallbacks.
Understanding Trading Volume
Volume measures trading activity during a period. It is not profit or proof of demand: repeated or artificial trades can inflate it. MemesDock uses a selected trading pair, so its figures may differ from all-market totals.
What Is Liquidity?
Liquidity describes how readily a token can be traded. Small liquidity pools can cause large price differences between a displayed price and an actual trade.
What Is a Contract Address?
A token contract address identifies a token on a particular blockchain. Names and symbols can be copied. Check both the network and address against independent project sources.
How to Research a Meme Coin
Read project information, examine supply and token permissions, review holder concentration and liquidity, and compare independent sources. A listing or verification badge is not a guarantee of safety.
Common Meme Coin Risks
Prices can move sharply, markets can become illiquid, and projects can fail. Bugs, misleading promotion and fraud can lead to loss of the entire amount involved.
Wallet Safety
Keep recovery phrases and private keys private. Check website addresses and permission requests carefully. MemesDock does not ask for your wallet credentials. When you use a Buy button, your wallet connects and the purchase is completed on the platform you are taken to, under that platform’s terms.
Avoiding Scams
Be cautious of guaranteed returns, urgent demands and unsolicited messages. Confirm identities independently. Never send credentials or funds to someone claiming they need them to unlock a reward.
